Today, doctors are increasingly citing stress as a major contributing
factor to most illnesses. Our bodies and minds react to it by shifting out of balance, which ultimately creates physical challenges and emotional turbulence that impact our lives at home, at work, and at play. In time, we can find ourselves in toxic relationships and non-nourishing patterns of eating, sleeping, and digestion.

The Perfect Health Program will help you identify the imbalances in your life, teach you how to correct them, and help you develop a nurturing daily routine. You will also learn to release emotions in a healthy way so that they don’t build up in your physiology. Most importantly, as your stress is eliminated, your mind and body begin to function with maximum effectiveness, creating health, vitality and happiness.

What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda, the 5,000-year-old healing system founded in the regions of ancient India, is derived from the Sanskrit words 'ayus' meaning life, and 'veda' meaning wisdom. Ayurveda, the wisdom of life, offers a proven guide for a life of happiness, vitality, love and purpose.

From the Ayurvedic perspective, human beings are not viewed as mere thinking physical machines, but rather as fields of intelligence in dynamic exchange with the energy and information of the environment. Health is a state of vibrant balance in which all the layers of one’s life are integrated. The Perfect Health Program provides Ayurvedic tools to enhance your physical and emotional well-being through your conscious choices, and by enlivening the nourishing connection between mind, body and spirit.

What Will I Learn in the Perfect Health program?  

The Perfect Health/Ayurveda Lifestyle program is presented in 5 two-hour sessions over 5 consecutive Wednesdays (or twice weekly for 3 weeks, or during an extended weekend retreat). These 5 two-hour classes will create positive life-nourishing changes.

The Perfect Health course offers a five-step exploration of mind-body medicine and Ayurveda. The course is designed for the general public who have had little or no previous understanding of these concepts. Each of the five lessons includes instruction in the practical tools and techniques of mind-body medicine that participants can immediately begin using in their daily lives. I include instruction and time for brief meditations and simply yoga postures that support the classes’ goals.

Session One. As your Chopra Center Certified Perfect Health Instructor, I will introduce you to the foundational principles of Ayurveda, meditation, and yoga as well as the three primary mind-body characteristics or doshas : Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Through an in-depth questionnaire and analysis, you’ll discover your own dosha type.

Session Two. In this session on “Food as Medicine,” you will learn how to select the most nourishing foods for your mind-body type. I will also guide you in Ayurvedic nutritional practices that will help you maintain vibrant health, appropriate weight, and optimized digestion.

Session Three. This session focuses on the tools and practices of rejuvenation and renewal. You’ll learn how to identify and eliminate toxins that accumulate in the mind and body. In addition, you will be guided in gentle rejuvenating practices, holistic techniques to relieve stress and anxiety, a personal daily routine for balance and health, and the secrets of restful sleep.

Session Four. Today you will learn why emotional freedom is the key to our physical, mental, and emotional health. We will explore the practice of conscious communication, which can transform your relationships and help you experience more intimacy and joy in your life.

Session Five. The final session delves into the healing power of the five senses: sound, touch, sight, taste, and smell. You’ll learn how to strengthen the body’s inner pharmacy by using specific tools that use each of the senses to heal, nourish, and balance your mind-body.
